This event on 14th February brought together researchers, people with Parkinson\u2019s, dance artists and healthcare professionals, to share ideas and experiences of how dance may help people with Parkinson\u2019s to move better and feel better. The workshop followed on from a previous event in April 2017, and it was good to see many familiar faces as well as making some new connections. The day started with a research update from the BEAM lab and an outline of our planned investigations into what makes dance beneficial for people with Parkinson\u2019s.<\/p>\n

We then had presentations from two dance artists involved in delivering dance classes for Parkinson\u2019s, including an interactive demonstration that got the whole room up and dancing. The final part of the day was dedicated to group discussions. The ideas gathered will inform our ongoing research into dance for Parkinson\u2019s and we hope that other attendees found the discussions interesting for their own work.<\/p>\n
