In this blog series, we will be featuring our award winners and highly commended recipients from the\u00a0Faculty\u2019s\u00a0\u2018<\/span><\/i>Outstanding Contribution to PPIE<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u2019 awards. The awards\u00a0showcase\u00a0inspirational and outstanding commitment to PPIE that has made a positive difference to our community and highlights the amazing events, activities,\u00a0people\u00a0and groups from across the\u00a0Faculty.<\/span><\/i>\u202f\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Our latest blog in this series features\u00a0Moira Lyons,\u00a0who\u00a0<\/span><\/i>was a winner in the\u00a0Individual category at the 2025 PPIE Awards. She has been\u00a0<\/span><\/i>a public contributor at the University since 2016\u00a0and has been extensively involved\u00a0in research and teaching-related PPIE initiatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Moira Lyons\u00a0is passionate about the role PPIE plays in shaping research, healthcare\u00a0delivery\u00a0and education.\u00a0Over the past decade, she has contributed to\u00a0numerous\u00a0activities, including\u00a0chairing programme committees,\u00a0supporting postgraduate module\u00a0design\u00a0and delivering PPIE training for researchers.\u00a0Her work has influenced students, postgraduates, practitioners,\u00a0pharmacists\u00a0and healthcare scientists.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Through membership of several PPIE groups, Moira has\u00a0provided strategic input, research\u00a0advice\u00a0and feedback.\u00a0Some of her activities include:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Moira\u2019s commitment exemplifies how public contributors can shape research and education for the better.
