LECTURESHIP IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANITARIANISM AND\/OR HUMANITARIAN AID<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Applications are invited for a lectureship in Humanitarianism & Conflict Response with a particular focus on the history of humanitarianism and\/or humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n

This lectureship is intended to provide research-informed teaching and related research activity in the Institute. You must have (or be close to completing) a PhD in History or a relevant Humanities discipline, and have a record of (or potential to produce publications in internationally recognised outlets. Relevant areas of research include (but are not limited to) the history of humanitarian intervention including the role played by NGOs, governmental and inter-governmental organisations in situations of conflict, disasters, population displacements, famines and\/or their aftermath. Experience of engaging with the NGO sector, through research and\/or education would be highly desirable. Experience of curriculum design, successful applications for research funding, post-graduate teaching and the supervision of research students are also desirable.<\/p>\n

You will be expected to contribute to the Institutes MAs and programmes in the institute as appropriate. You will be invited to offer an advanced undergraduate course unit in modern history as part of the history programmes.<\/p>\n
