The Story of Anggit Sunarwidhi

My parents inspire me. My father always encouraged me to always aim high in life. My mother is a career woman who takes care of her kids. She is one of the strongest women that I know and I hope to be like her one day.

I’m doing a PhD because I’m eager to learn more and become a good researcher. Science is interesting and I knew from undertaking the masters that I wanted to be involved in my career. I’m from Indonesia, where I did both my undergrad and master’s degrees. I moved to Manchester to pursue my PhD having secured funding with my government for 4 years. Why Manchester? Manchester is a multicultural city and the UK was always a country that took my interest. The project was advertised and I was fascinated by the research area. I’m glad that I chose to do my PhD here and hope to use the techniques that I have learnt to pursue my career as a great scientific researcher.
