The Story of Andrius Vabalas
People who care about others inspire me, those that grow together with others and because of others. Leaders who do not concentrate on chasing short-term successes but concentrate on inclusion, partnership and people development. The benefits are not as quick but they are much greater. I came to the UK eleven years ago from Vilnius Lithuania because I had a place at a good university to study psychology. Before that, I was in finance and now I am on an engineering PhD course. Similar situation with jobs and places I lived – many and varied. PhD is great because even after 2 years on the course it is still exciting and interesting, probably even more so than at the start. It offers a variety of activities: outreach, teaching, supervision and being supervised, experiments, presentations, travel and competitions, to name a few. It challenges, requires creativity and does not get boring. Highly recommended.
