I am inspired by small acts of kindness. In 2016, I started a project called Plant and Hope which has been extremely successful – it continues to bloom! There have been seven events to date. The idea was to improve students’ working spaces and thereby their well-being. Over 2000 plants have been handed out to postgraduate students. These have made the working spaces greener and encouraged students to think and talk about their environment they work in. The events have brought together a diverse group of postgraduate students and have genuinely made a difference to their daily lives. More importantly this project has demonstrated that a small act of kindness by gifting a plant can connect, renew and inspire students. The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.
