After recovering of a long term illness and two surgeries, my goal was to achieve the English level required to be accepted at The University of Manchester to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering. I learnt English by myself, taking a few formal classes. My desire to be part of the ‘purple team’ made me overcome many challenging situations, but I never gave up! Working under the supervision of two world leaders in my field (Professor Megan Jobson and Professor Robin Smith) has been more than inspiring in all senses. They are shaping my future as a researcher, so I feel lucky and proud to have the opportunity to learn from them. My life philosophy is: everything is possible if you work hard. Never is too late to make your dreams come true!
