The BSRBR-RA is one of four biologics registers run by the British Society for Rheumatology:   

• BSRBR-RA (University of Manchester) 

• UK JIA Biologics Register (University of Manchester)  

• Psoriatic Arthritis Register (University of Aberdeen)  

• Ankylosing spondylitis (University of Aberdeen) 

Recruitment

Recruitment is ongoing in all registers, except for the AS register.   

Research

The BSR registers work closely together to ensure that methods and objectives are aligned, as well as looking at similar areas of research. For example, the BSRBR-RA research study analysed the outcomes of switching from originator to biosimilar therapy within the RA group in 2023.  This was then also analysed in the JIA register a year later. Reassuringly, results were similar across the two studies, showing that switching between these two types of therapy was well tolerated.
