In this seminar Dr Rachael Wheatley, Cluster Psychology Lead for Midlands Psychology Service HMPPS and Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at the University of Derby, discussed the motives which drive men who stalk. She explained the role of narcissism in stalking, and explained that stalking is often driven by a need to restore one’s self-worth and gain validation. She presented findings from a systematic review on psychopathology bespoke to stalkers, and described findings from qualitative research with men who have stalked on their reasons for and experiences of stalking.
