The Story of Xiaozhou Mao

The interest to explore new areas and the help from my supervisor encourages me all the way. Any new progress, however small, makes me feel happy and more confident.

I am from China. I was in the 2+2 programme of NCEPU and spent the last two years of undergraduate at the University of Manchester. After finishing my undergraduate education, I became a PhD student in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. I struggled at the very beginning of my PhD study, but then I started to enjoy it. It is very important and helpful to often communicate with people around you, especially your supervisor and the colleagues who work in the same area. I have been in Manchester for five years, and without a doubt, it has been an amazing time.
