BSRBR-RA Recruitment Workshop – 11th February 2025
We recently held a workshop for our NHS healthcare professional colleagues involved in the BSRBR-RA Study around the topic of Recruitment. We wanted to find out what really works in terms of recruiting participants to the study and to share good practice across different Trusts that contribute data.
What we learned
- Recruitment is successful when there is good collaboration across departments/multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), including Research/Rheumatology/Pharmacy.
- Awareness of the study across departments is useful.
- Outreach consent through the post is useful but return rates can be low.
What our sites found useful
How we can help sites
- We can provide stamps to help with outreach consent.
- We can provide posters to engage key departments and inform them that recruitment is still ongoing.
- We can attend clinical research meetings to present information about BSRBR-RA to raise awareness with other departmental staff.
- We can provide a poster to display in clinics to engage study participants.
What next?
We plan to run another recruitment session on 7th July 2025 at 2pm-3pm, so email us if you are interested in joining us to network with colleagues at other BSRBR-RA sites. You are also welcome to attend our regular training sessions, where you may pick up some extra tips!
