My journey as a Pharmacy student

I am not exaggerating when I say choosing to study in Manchester is the best decision I have ever made. Studying in Manchester has really broadened my horizons in ways that I could have never possibly imagined.

You may be wondering, ‘what makes me say that?’. Well, Manchester is a very diverse city and I have gotten the chance to have met people from all across the globe. I’ve learnt so much about people and cultures from other places and it felt like I had been to their country myself. A tip for you: International society is the best spot to mingle with people!

There is just so much to do in Manchester. It ranges from nights out, concerts, theatres to café, and museums. There is always something for everyone. There are more than 400 societies at the University of Manchester so finding something for you will be effortless. I am personally very passionate about the humanitarian crisis, and I get to be a part of the committee and organize my own events to raise funds and awareness. This amazing opportunity has allowed me to revere my creativity and has drove me in trying to make a difference in the world. Guess what? I am also learning how to kick-box!

Did you know that Manchester is at the centre of everything and it has an exceptional and l impressive transport network? I get to travel around the UK easily and it only takes 3 hours to get to Scotland by train, and 2 hours to fly to Italy. If you fancy a hike or want to get closer to nature, the peak district is only a 30-minute train away.

It is absurd how much I have learnt in the past 3 years in Manchester. I have learnt how to be independent, and how to live alone (including cooking for myself every day) and I have met all sorts of people (good or bad) who gave me invaluable life experiences. In my opinion, studying abroad is a must-do but studying in Manchester just makes everything way better. I am very proud to call Manchester my (temporary) home!

I really hope that everyone can come and visit this vibrant city and experience this yourself!

P/S. The British weather is very unpredictable so get your brollies ready!
