July 2019 – ResearchInTouch workshop
Ellen and Dan attended the first ResearchInTouch workshop at the University of Nottingham. This was a two-day meeting bringing together researchers from multiple disciplines who are interested in the somatosensory system. Ellen was a co-organiser of the event and introduced research from the BEAM lab including work on selective attention to touch in autism and ageing. Dan presented a poster on a series of studies, investigating whether visual-tactile selective attention can be enhanced with advanced information about visual distractors. This was a fantastic example of a multidisciplinary meeting and the beginning of an exciting network of touch researchers in the UK. Presentations from the workshop are available to view online.
