Annual Apprenticeship Conference (2022)
Lauren O’Hara our Skills and Development, Business Administration apprentice, attended the 8th Annual Apprenticeship Conference in Birmingham last week. This major event provided business-critical updates, advice, and keynote sessions for everyone involved in the delivery of apprenticeships. This flagship conference is recognised UK wide and demonstrates the effort and enthusiasm being devoted to the development of post-16 education, and included sessions from Rachel Sylvester, Chair of the Times Education Commission, Alex Burghart, Minister for Skills and Jennifer Coupland, CEO for Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
The two days provided 1300 delegates with opportunity to hear vital updates on apprenticeship policy, network with apprenticeship experts and debate how programmes can be delivered whilst considering industry needs.
Lauren said “This was a fabulous opportunity for an apprentice like me to hear about their apprenticeships from both provider and employer perspectives. I feel this additional rounded information enables me to make better choices for our university apprentices and improve their journey.”
