FBMH backs new Manchester Universities Sexual Harassment Campaign

Never OK is a joint campaign by our University, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Salford, promoting an environment and culture where sexual harassment or violence is never tolerated.

Our Faculty is supporting the #NeverOK campaign and encourages everyone to be active bystanders and challenge unacceptable behaviour if they witness it. Watch the FBMH #NeverOK video and see Faculty staff supporting the campaign.

Dr Natalie Gardiner, Associate Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion commented, “Sexual harassment includes a wide range of unwanted behaviours that can make you feel offended, intimidated or scared. It can happen in person or online, by someone you know or a complete stranger”.

The University has a zero-tolerance stance on sexual harassment and sexual violence and takes all reports of sexual harassment seriously.

We want to empower survivors of sexual harassment or violence to seek support and feel confident about reporting incidents. If you have been affected by harassment, or witnessed harassment, please use the UoM Report and Support system. You can choose to do this anonymously, or you can request support from an advisor. Read more about the campaign here, including links to active bystander training, an online consent module, and also see the Dignity at Work and Study Procedures for Students and Dignity at Work Policy).

If you are interested in learning more about our policies and processes and find out more about how to report instances of bullying, harassment and discrimination – join the next EDI Lunch and Learn: Anti-Bullying Week and Report and Support on Thursday, 17 November at 12pm.

These sessions are open to all staff from all areas and roles.  Find out more and book your place.
