Dr Howell’s article in the Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding examines how the US military and humanitarian actors became interested in the Baghdad Zoo as part of the reconstruction efforts in Iraq.  It explores themes of civil-military cooperation in a particular grounded context in Iraq, following on from her previous work on the psychiatric hospital in Baghdad.
