Dr. Paul Kailiponi interviewed on Philippine relief efforts

In the wake of the destructive Typhoon Haiyan which swept the Philippines and north Vietnam last week, Lecturer in Disaster Management Dr. Paul Kailiponi has been interviewed on radio and television for his thoughts on the challenges in coordinating relief efforts.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday 11th November, Dr. Kailiponi explained that a decisive factor in the efficacy of relief efforts would be the capacity of local Philipinne governments to distribute aid and stressed the importance of local knowledge and infrastructures in informing activities.
