What did you study at college?

At college, I did the International Baccalaureate so in total I studied six subjects. My favourites were Anthropology, History and Chinese.

Why did you choose International Disaster Management and Humanitarian Response (IDMHR) rather than another course?

I chose IDMHR because there was no other course really like it. The course also falls very much in line with my aspirations for after university of going into either the Humanitarian or Diplomatic sector.

What have you enjoyed the most so far about the course?

So far, the best part about studying at HCRI has been all the incredible guest speakers we’ve had the opportunity to meet. It’s not every day you get to meet Gareth Owen OBE, the Humanitarian Director of Save the Children.

Is there anything you would like to say to anyone applying to this course?

I would say to anyone thinking of applying that studying IDMHR also gives you a great opportunity to learn a language as your minor. I chose Chinese as my minor and I’m really enjoying it.
