Ahmad Djalali

Dr. Ahmadreza Djalali, a highly respected physician, teacher, scientist and humanitarian was arrested on April 25 and detained in Evin Prison, Iran and has been informed that his punishment will be execution.

Issues of “fake news” seem to dominate the headlines these days. Of course, these debates have been on-going for centuries and connect with academic freedom. HCRI staff have collaborated on projects on which Dr Ahmadrez Djalali has been involved, which is why we are so appalled to learn that he has been sentenced to death.
