Last month, Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies Roger Mac Ginty delivered well attended HCRI inaugural lecture. We’re pleased to announce that a recording of the lecture is now available to watch online via the HCRI Youtube channel.

Titled Everyday Peace: the extraordinary peacemaking skills of so-called “ordinary” people, Professor Mac Ginty examines how individuals that live within communities with a history of conflict or instability can maintain peace through their day to day behaviour and social interactions. He also looks at how these techniques are often ignored by a mainstream understanding of peacemaking,which places greater emphasis on the activities of state actors and NGOs. The inaugural lecture took place on 23rd October, 2013.
